I have always enjoyed working puzzles, solving problems and discovering how things work and fit into our world. I have also been very drawn to fashion and art. It wasn’t until a career exploration class in college that I discovered all the things I love to do could be encompassed into a profession. That’s when I decided that I would be and always had been an interior designer.
I attended the university of Northern Iowa from 2002-2005 where I obtained a BA in interior design and a minor in marketing. I began my career as a designer with Creative Home Consulting in Urbandale, Iowa where I worked on design projects for 5 years. During this time in 2009 I received the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) Certificate. NCIDQ establishes the standards for education and experience through a competency examination for the licensure of interior designers. I feel that holding an NCIDQ certificate provides assurance that I am a qualified designer through education, experience and examination.
I have worked on projects ranging from residential remodel to a large commercial retreat center. As an interior designer, I enjoy finding creative and aesthetically pleasing solutions for design challenges.
